Wee Read at Main and Branch Libraries

Wee Read, a program offered through the Children’s Department, is designed to introduce children to books, fingerplays and music incorporating the six early learning skills. Patrons, ages birth through two years, and their parents or caregivers are invited to Wee Read, Monday evenings at the main library, from 6:30-7:00 p.m. and Wednesday mornings at the main and branch libraries, from 10:30-11:00 a.m. Sessions last 20-30 minutes. Are you struggling to find where things are on the new Windows 8 interface? In Intro to Windows 8 we will be covering the basics to get you up and running on your new Windows 8 PC.  We will demonstrate how to navigate through this new interface to find many of the common desktop components you are used to on a Windows computer and show you how you can customize this new app. based system to fit your interests-- plus a whole lot more!

Did you just get a new tablet or eReader over the holidays? Come learn about the free apps available from the library for borrowing eBooks, audiobooks, magazines, movies, and television shows. Be sure to bring your library card, password, and Tablet/eReader with you if you would like to download the apps.

Cheerful Tree Storytime with Hot Pots

Children, ages 3-12, are invited to Rodman Branch Library for a Cheerful Tree Storytime on Wednesday, Dec. 10, at 6:30 p.m. and Saturday, Dec. 13, at 11:00 a.m. A story will be read first at the Branch Library, then children and their guardian will proceed to Hot Pots to make a 6-1/2 in. ceramic Christmas tree figurine. A $10.00 fee will be collected for supplies on the day of the program that will be payable to Hot Pots. Snacks will be offered. Registration is required for this event and can be made by stopping in at the Branch or calling 330-821-1313.
