Summer computer classes conclude in July. Classes run on July 5 & 6, 10 & 11, 13 and 20. Hands-on classes are limited to nine (9) persons and a maximum of two (2) alternates. All classes start at 10 a.m., except where noted at 6:30 p.m., and last about one hour. Registration is required and accepted by telephone or in person. Call 330-821-2665 to register.
Basic Computer: Learn the basics of the computer and common desktop elements including the power button, Start menu, windows, and files. There will be a short introduction on the functions of the mouse and keyboard. Class date is Wednesday, July 5
Searching the Net: The focus will be on various search engines, and how to become a better Internet searcher. Prior experience with using the Internet is preferred but not necessary. Class date is Thursday, July 6
Online Genealogy Research: This class is for those new to genealogy research or interested in getting started. We’ll explore Ancestry, Family Search, and other valuable online resources. Prior experience with using the Internet is preferred. Class date is Monday, July 10, at 6:30 p.m.
Word Basics: Become familiar with Word through an overview of this program—word processing, how to copy, paste, add page numbers, format a document, and use templates. Attendance at Computer Basics or prior experience with Windows is preferred. Class date is Tuesday, July 11
Email Basics: Reading and sending emails, plus attaching and opening attached files are explained using a free email account from Google. The class is suited to those who do not currently have an email account and are interested in creating one. Prior experience with using the Internet is preferred. Class date is Thursday, July 13
Google Drive: A free online alternative to Microsoft Office, Google Drive offers access to Docs, Sheets, Slides, and more with free cloud storage. An active Google account is required. Please see a Reference Librarian if you need assistance setting up an account. Class date is Thursday, July 20
