Author Bill Beltz

Alliance native Bill Beltz, author of The Buried War, will be speaking on Tuesday, Aug. 2, at 7 p.m., in the Children’s Program Room. He shares the story of his father, a WWII veteran who served in active combat in Guadalcanal for three years, then suffered from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). His book is a memoir of the survival of his family living with poverty and the ravaged home life brought on by his father’s mental illness, the author’s life-long struggle with depression, and his search for life’s meaning and purpose.
