Rodman Public Library is pleased to announce the reopening of the Main Library at 215 East Broadway St. on Tuesday, June 16.  The library will reopen with the following hours:
  • Monday-Wednesday 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
  • Thursday & Friday 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  • Saturday 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
In the interest of keeping all visitors and library staff as safe as possible, the following restrictions have been adopted:
Library users who have a fever or cough are asked to stay home and visit the library when these symptoms subside.
In response to the pandemic, the library staff are adhering to strict facility cleaning procedures.  The staff are also required to wear face coverings and will also be washing and sanitizing their hands frequently.  Staff who show signs of illness will not be permitted to work until symptoms subside.
In order to help prevent the spread of infection, all library users are requested to wear face coverings.  Disposable masks are available to those who do not have one.
All library users are asked to limit their time in the library to one hour.  Library use is limited to the following purposes:
  • Browsing and checking out materials
  • Reading non-circulating publications
  • Using public computers, copiers, scanners, and fax machines
Computer use is limited to one hour, and a face covering will be required for those using a public computer.  In order to comply with social distancing recommendations, the number of computers available is limited.  Library users may reserve a time for the computer by calling 330.821.2665.
The library will be limited to 50 visitors inside the building at one time.  This includes no more than 15 visitors in the Children’s Department, 5 visitors in the Teen Room, and 30 visitors in the Adult and Reference Departments.
Unfortunately, there will be no meeting room use or in-person programs, as the library cannot serve as a gathering place during this time.  Much of the library’s furniture has been removed during this time to better allow for social distancing.
The book return is open, and all library users are encouraged to return items in the book return. With the reopening of the building, wireless hotspots and all other items that are normally returned inside may be returned at the Circulation desk.  While we look forward to reopening the Branch Library and that location’s book return, the Branch and its book return will remain closed until further notice.
Returned items will remain on your library account for 5 days, as all library items are being quarantined before being checked in and shelved.   Items returned during this time will not be subject to overdue fines.
The Friends of Rodman Library are not accepting donated materials until further notice.
Curbside pickup of materials at the Main Library is available to all library users.  Please call 330.821.2665 for more details.
“We are pleased to be reopening the Main Library,” said Library Director Eric Taggart.  “Library service will look different with restrictions to help keep both patrons and staff safe.  We want to be able to allow our patrons access to library materials, as well as to our computers, copiers, and printers.”  Patrons are encouraged to continue to use the library’s digital services.  While the Main Library is the first Rodman Public Library location to reopen, the staff continues to work towards reopening the Branch Library and providing Bookmobile service in a way that will keep our community and library staff as safe as possible.
