The annual used book sale conducted by the Friends of Rodman Library is returning in August, but there are a few changes this year.
The sale will be held Aug. 7 – 11 at the Alliance Neighborhood Center, 405 S. Linden Ave.
As a result of the change in venue, donations are being accepted at the Neighborhood Center on a limited schedule. Beginning July 20, donations can be dropped off between 10 a.m. and noon on Tuesdays and Thursdays at the location. The last day that donations will be accepted will be Aug. 5.
Those wishing to donate items such as books, DVDs, CDs and magazines, should enter at the Arch Street parking lot. Patrons will be able to drop off items at door No. 4, which is equipped with a ramp. Carts will be available to help wheel donations into the building.
Those who need a special drop-off time, should call Rodman Public Library at 330-821-2665 to make arrangements.
The used book sale, which runs in conjunction with the Greater Alliance Carnation Festival, will begin with a members only day on Aug. 7 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Memberships to Friends of Rodman Library can be purchased at the door or in advance at the library.
The sale will continue from 1 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 8 as well as 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. the following three days, Aug. 9 through Aug. 11.
Those who would like to volunteer with Friends of Rodman Library, should call the library at 330-821-2665 and leave their name and contact information. A member of Friends of Rodman Library will then contact potential volunteers to discuss opportunities.
