If your idea of a good read is real-life mystery, you won’t want to miss out on joining Rodman Public Library’s newest book club.
On Oct. 19, librarian Ashley Mock will lead the first meeting of the True Crime Junkies Book Club and a discussion of I’ll Be Gone in the Dark: One Woman’s Obsessive Search for the Golden State Killer by Michelle McNamara.
The club, which plans to meet every third Tuesday of the month at 6:30 p.m., will explore a variety of subjects in the popular true crime genre, including one that hits a little closer to home when they discuss Hope: A Memoir of Survival in Cleveland by Amanda Berry, Gina DeJesus, Mary Jordan, and Kevin Sullivan on Nov. 16.
To finish out 2021, the True Crime Junkies will read Elizabeth Kendall’s Phantom Prince: My Life with Ted Bundy for the meeting on Dec. 21.
Copies of each book are available at the Main Library, through the library’s catalog, or digitally through the Ohio Digital Library and Hoopla.
