Fall Fun Awaits Kids at RPL

There's lots for kids to do this fall at Rodman Public Library.

A Magic Show, Lego and Kids Crafting programs, and of course the Kids Book Club are all on the schedule as well as three of Rodman Public Library’s favorite children’s programs for the little ones -- including Wee Read, Family Fun Night and Storytime.

WEE READ

Fall Wee Read, which will run between September 11 and November 15, is offered every Monday evening at 6:30 p.m. and every Wednesday morning at 10:30 a.m. Children, ages birth through two years, and their parents or caregivers are invited to attend. Wee Read includes stories, fingerplays, music and movement. No registration required.

FAMILY FUN NIGHT

Each Tuesday between September 12 and November 14, parents or caregivers and their children, ages 3 to 12, are invited to participate in an entertaining and educational evening in Rodman Main Children’s Department as part of Family Fun Night. The fun starts at 6:30 p.m. with stories before participants break into small groups to visit various stations where they will play games, complete challenges and create crafts that will provide fun for all ages.

STORYTIME

Children, ages 3-5, and their parents or caregivers are invited to attend Storytime sessions this fall at Rodman Public Library. Morning sessions will be held each Thursday at 10:30 a.m. between September 14 and November 16 at the Main Library. Evening session are held each Tuesday between September 12 and November 14 at 6:30 p.m. as part of Family Fun Night. Storytime sessions are intended to encourage lifelong readers through stories, music, movement and activities.

 

LEGO LAB

Led by Hayley Driver, the program is free, thanks to Friends of Rodman Public Library.

November

Rodman Public Library’s Lego Lab will continue in November when the theme will be fall trees.

The program, intended for children ages 6-12, will be held November 8 from 6 to 7 p.m.

HOT POTS STORYTIME

November 

Two sessions will be held in October with pumpkins being the theme, including Wednesday, November 8 at 6:30 p.m. and another on Saturday, November 11 at 11 a.m.

Children, ages 3-12, are invited to come to the Branch for a mini storytime and then proceed to Hot Pots, accompanied by their guardian, to paint turkey figurine.

The cost is $15 per child and registration is required. The fee for the event is payable to Hot Pots upon registration at hotpotspottery.com or by calling 330-823-3333.

 

KIDS CRAFTING

Rodman Public Library’s monthly Kids Crafting program continues at 4 p.m. Thursday, November 9 when children, ages 7-12, are invited to come to the Main Library to create a chalk art turkey.

All materials used during monthly kids crafting programs are provided for free thanks to the Friends of Rodman Public Library.

STORIES IN MOTION

October

As the weather starts to turn cooler, and going outside isn’t an option, Rodman Public Library has the solution to keep kids and their caregivers moving.

Designed to help participants shake their sillies out, Stories in Motion will debut on Wednesday, October 25 at 6 p.m.

The program, led by Cyndi Shutt, is a half hour full of stories and songs that will get both children and their adult companions on their feet and moving around as everyone inside the auditorium for Stories in Motion is expected to participate.

Kids, from birth to 12 years old, are invited to attend the monthly program.
