The winners of the Summer Writing Contest sponsored by the Teen Writing Club at Rodman Public Library have been determined.
Blindly judged by a panel of three independent persons with English degrees, the competition was close with first-place accolades and a $25 Amazon gift card being awarded to Alea L. Simbro for her story "Talking with the Tide.”
Sydney K. Schmied was the runner-up for her submission titled "The Image of Illusion” and earned a $10 Amazon gift card.
Teens, ages 12-18, were eligible to enter an original work to the contest. The story had to be at least 1,000 and no more than 5,000 words long. It also had to include the words or variations of the words “ocean,” “possibility,” and “summer” in conjunction with the 2022 Summer Reading Program theme of “Oceans of Possibilities.”
