The new year brings big changes to the children’s department at Rodman Public Library.
Rodman Public Library will mark the beginning of a new year with the screening of one of the biggest superhero films of the previous year.
Storytime with Hot Pots at the Rodman Branch Library continues in January with a hot cocoa mug project.
Two sessions are planned, including one on Wednesday, January 4 from 6: 30 to 7:30 p.m., and another on Saturday, January 7 from 11 a.m. to noon.
Rodman Public Library and the Branch will be closed Friday, December 23 through Monday, December 26 in honor of the Christmas holiday.
Both facilities will reopen Tuesday, Dec. 27 for regular business hours.
The libraries will be open for normal business hours on New Year's Eve, but will be closed all day both January 1 and January 2. It will reopen Tuesday, January 3 for normal business hours.
Alliance Vinyl Club will be in a festive mood when it meets at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, December 14 at Rodman Public Library.
The club, which is open to all music lovers, will feature Christmas music that night. Those attending are encouraged to bring in some of their favorite holiday-themed records to enjoy with others.
Get on board The Polar Express!
Children and their family are invited to join the staff of Rodman Library’s Children’s Department on a trip to the North Pole. The run will be offered four times, including at 5:00 OR 6:00 on Monday, Dec. 12, OR at 5:00 p.m. OR 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 13.
Rodman Public Library will provide the LEGOs, teens will provide the creativity on Thursday, December 8 during a LEGO building competition.
Teens, ages 12-18, will work in teams of two to three members from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. to create a winter/holiday-themed display using a variety of LEGOs provided by the library, including LEGO Mindstorms.
